Volleyball Victory: Overcoming Homestead in a Comeback Win

We had a post match chat with Zionsville Jack Miller (‘26). He was a much needed catalyst in the second set. Final score 17-25|25-17|25-23|25-14

Jack talks about the impressive comeback victory against Homestead after underestimating them in the first set. He discusses how JT and Dylan found great ways to score, the importance of keeping our system and playing consistent volleyball, and how improved serving from set one through four made the difference. We talk about our impressive win against the number two ranked team in a sectional championship match. We came in aggressive and focused, knowing this team had taken a set off us before. We discuss how our blocking strategy against their star player Ram was key to shutting down their offense, with our middles running quick attacks that opened up opportunities for our pins. We highlight how our team plays best when we’re having fun while staying locked in, and how getting kills in the middle creates momentum throughout the lineup. This dominant three-set victory feels incredible, especially in my first year as a full-time starter.

Total kills for Xavier and Ram = 52

This highlight represents the battle between the two teams but between two great players. Just a small snippet of the 52 kills. Both seniors. It was exciting to see this match up and phenomenal play between these two young men.
