Fall Creek Valley Outlasts Northview in a Basketball Showcase

November 13, North Central High School — The energy inside North Central High School was electric Thursday night as Fall Creek Valley (FCV) and Northview Middle School squared off in one of the most anticipated middle school basketball games of the season. The matchup was so highly anticipated it had to be moved to a larger venue, and the players delivered a performance worthy of the stage.


A Fast Start for Fall Creek Valley


From the opening tip, FCV set the tone with a 7–0 run. Dominique Hollowell, one of the team’s leaders, scored 4 points in the stretch and assisted on a three-pointer, while Levin Robinson made his presence felt with a block and 7 points in the first quarter. Their early dominance gave FCV momentum and silenced any doubts about whether they could handle the spotlight.


Patterson’s Second-Quarter Surge


Northview’s To’Marion Patterson, however, refused to let the game slip away. Patterson scored the first 8 points of the second quarter cutting FCV’s lead to 24–16. Patterson finished the quarter with 12 points. His relentless scoring kept Northview within striking distance, but Fall Creek Valley’s balanced attack ensured they went into halftime with a 33–23 advantage.



Third Quarter: FCV Tightens Its Grip


The third quarter showcased FCV’s defensive intensity and efficiency. The team forced turnovers that led to 8 points and shot 64% (7–11) from two-point range. Northview struggled to find rhythm, managing just 12 points while missing both of its three-point attempts. By the end of the quarter, FCV had extended its lead and looked firmly in control.


Fourth Quarter Drama


Northview saved its best for last, scoring 20 points in the fourth quarter and shooting an impressive 73% (8–11) from inside the arc. Patterson continued to attack, sparking a 9–2 run that trimmed the deficit to 63–53. But just as the crowd sensed a comeback, FCV responded with an 8–0 run to slam the door shut. The final score: Fall Creek Valley 71, Northview 53.



Star Performances

  • Dominique Hollowell (FCV): Hollowell led all FCV scorers with 25 points, adding 4 steals, 4 assists, and multiple three-pointers. His two-way play was critical in maintaining FCV’s edge.

  • Levin Robinson (FCV): Robinson recorded a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds, while also blocking 4 shots to anchor the defense.

  • Dylan Wise (FCV): Wise chipped in 15 points, knocking down key threes to stretch the defense.

  • Corey Simmons (FCV): Simmons added 11 points, providing steady scoring support.

  • To’Marion Patterson (Northview): Patterson was the game’s leading scorer with 30 points, dominating the paint and keeping Northview competitive.

  • Tyrice Baker (Northview): Baker contributed 14 points, giving Patterson some much-needed help.


Team Breakdown

  • Fall Creek Valley: 20–37 on twos (54%), 7–18 on threes (38%), 14 assists, 4 blocks.

  • Northview: 21–39 on twos (54%), struggled from beyond the arc, but excelled in the paint.
