NOBLESVILLE, Ind. — In a contest featuring several Division I recruits, Justin Curry (Valparaiso commit), Baron Walker (Butler commit), Noah Smith (DePaul commit), and the electrifying junior Harper Baker-Lands — battle it out in a game that felt more like March than November. The Plainfield Quakers held off a late surge from the Noblesville Millers to secure a 60–53 victory Saturday afternoon.
The game opened evenly, with both teams trading baskets in the first quarter. Noblesville spread its scoring across multiple players, including Justin Curry with four points and Max Flanagan with two three-pointers. Plainfield countered with strong interior play, shooting 83 percent inside the arc, and capitalized on six Noblesville turnovers to keep the score tied at 13–13 after one.
Plainfield seized control in the second quarter, starting with a 7–0 run sparked by Noah Smith and Harper Baker-Lands. The Quakers shot 67 percent from two-point range and 60 percent from three, building a nine-point halftime lead at 30–21. Noblesville struggled to generate offense, with Curry scoring five of the team’s eight points in the period.
The Millers responded in the third quarter, cutting the deficit to five behind Curry’s two three-pointers. Plainfield answered with a 6–2 run to close the frame, maintaining a 44–35 advantage heading into the fourth.
Curry delivered his strongest stretch in the final quarter, scoring 12 of Noblesville’s 18 points, including the first seven to trim the margin. Despite the effort, Plainfield’s balanced attack and timely rebounding preserved the lead. The Quakers scored 16 points in the quarter and converted on turnovers and second-chance opportunities to secure the win.
